Evri API Integration Cost: What to Expect in the UK

28 April 2026 5 min read

The Evri API is free to use once your Evri Corporate Business account has API credentials provisioned. The integration cost is the development work: authentication, shipment creation and label generation logic, service selection rules, tracking integration, error handling and connection to your platform. That cost ranges from £995 for a standard label generation integration to £2,295 for a multi-carrier build combining Evri with Royal Mail or DPD.

Build tiers

Standard integration: £995

Shipment creation and label generation triggered by order events on your platform. Parcel value mapping from your order data, service selection to your rules, tracking number write-back to your order record, and order status update on despatch. Error handling for address validation failures and API unavailability. Technical documentation included.

This tier assumes a standing Evri collection — the driver collects at an agreed time without any API booking required. Timeline: approximately 3–5 days from credential availability.

Platform integration: £1,595

Everything in the standard tier, plus live Evri tracking status on customer-facing pages, automated customer notifications triggered by Evri tracking events (despatch confirmed, out for delivery, delivered, delivery attempted), returns label generation, and integration with your existing OMS or warehouse management system. For businesses with a separate order management system, a bespoke platform or high daily volumes where batch processing and reporting matter.

Timeline: approximately one week.

Multi-carrier: £2,295

Evri plus Royal Mail or DPD from the same integration layer with automatic carrier selection. Standard parcels route to Evri. Letter-format lightweight items route to Royal Mail. Next-day priority orders route to DPD. One integration point, automatic carrier decision, optimised postage cost on every order. For businesses already using two carriers manually who want the routing automated.

Timeline: approximately two weeks.

What drives the cost up

QR code returns. Evri’s QR code returns (label-free drop-off at a ParcelShop) require additional API credential setup with Evri and additional integration logic. If QR code returns are a requirement, confirm during scoping as Evri’s approval process for this feature can add time.

ParcelShop delivery at checkout. Integrating a ParcelShop finder at checkout — showing available ParcelShop locations on a map and capturing the customer’s chosen location — is a meaningful additional scope item. The ParcelShop API provides the location data; the checkout UI to present and capture the choice is a custom build.

Test label approval timeline. Evri requires test labels to be submitted and approved before production access. This approval happens on Evri’s side and typically takes a few days to a week. Development proceeds in parallel in the Evri sandbox, but go-live depends on approval. Starting this process at the same time as commissioning the build avoids it becoming the critical path.

Legacy platform integration. Connecting Evri to a clean modern WooCommerce store is fast. Integrating with a legacy OMS with limited API access, a bespoke ERP system or a platform with unusual data structures takes more time.

Ongoing costs

The Evri API is free to use. Evri per-parcel rates are negotiated directly with Evri as part of your Corporate Business account — these are not part of the build cost. An optional retainer of £49/month covers API monitoring and updates if Evri changes their API or authentication requirements.

DPD vs Evri integration cost

The build costs for a DPD and an Evri integration are broadly comparable at each tier — £995 standard, £1,595 platform, £2,295 multi-carrier for both. The APIs are similar in complexity and the integration patterns are equivalent. The main difference is Evri’s test label approval step, which adds time but not cost to the build. The multi-carrier tier costs the same whether it combines Evri + Royal Mail or DPD + Royal Mail — the carrier selection logic is equivalent complexity either way.

Is Evri right for your business before integrating?

Before commissioning an Evri integration, it’s worth confirming you have or can get an Evri Corporate Business account. Evri requires a minimum shipment volume threshold for Corporate accounts — businesses below this threshold may not qualify. If you’re currently using Evri’s consumer-facing Click & Drop service rather than a Corporate account, speak to Evri’s business team about transitioning to a Corporate account before starting the API integration process.

The integration cost is the same whether you’re shipping 100 parcels per week or 1,000. The business case is stronger at higher volumes — the time saving from automating manual despatch work is larger, and the postage savings from optimised carrier selection in the multi-carrier tier are more significant. A rough guide: if manual Evri despatch processing is taking more than 30 minutes per day, a standard integration at £995 pays for itself within a month in recovered staff time alone.

What to prepare before the build starts

To start the build without delays: confirm your Evri Corporate Business account is active with API access requested from your account manager; have your Evri credentials available (Client ID, Client Secret, username, password) or know when they’ll be provided; be ready to create and submit test labels as soon as Evri provides the test address list. Everything else — the technical build, sandbox testing, integration into your platform — can proceed in parallel while waiting for test label approval.
