Prices

Every project is different, so these are starting prices. You get a written quote before any work starts, then 50% to begin and 50% when you're happy with it.

Two kinds of comparison integration

  • Your own comparison engine You connect to several provider APIs, send each the customer's details, gather the quotes, apply your own ranking and filters, and show the results under your own brand.
  • Sending your products to aggregators If you're the insurer, lender or supplier, your products and prices are sent to each comparison platform in its own format and kept up to date, with no manual portal work.

There's no plugin for either. Every platform has its own data format, sign-in and rules, so it's always a custom build.

Who it's for

  • Insurance comparison Motor, home, van and travel quotes from insurer APIs, with eligibility rules applied and results ranked.
  • Energy and broadband comparison Tariffs and availability for the customer's address, with filters and a route to switch.
  • Financial products Loans, mortgages and cards checked with lenders through soft searches, and ranked by rate or chance of approval.
  • Insurers, lenders and suppliers Your products kept current on the comparison platforms automatically.

Other APIs these builds often need: DVLA and DVSA MOT for vehicle details, Companies House for business checks and Land Registry for property data.

How it's built

  • Providers asked at the same time Quote requests go to every provider at once, not one after another, so the customer waits for the slowest provider rather than the total of all of them.
  • Slow providers don't hold up the page Each provider gets a time limit. Quotes that come back in time are shown, and a late or failed provider is left out of that search instead of breaking it.
  • One format for every provider Each provider replies in its own format. Replies are converted into one standard shape, so ranking, filters and display work the same however many providers you add.
  • Every quote kept Each request and reply is stored with a reference and the time it was given, so you can show exactly what a customer was quoted if it's ever questioned.
  • Built to change Providers change their formats and rules. Each provider sits in its own module with its own tests, so a change at one provider is a contained job, not a rebuild.

Payment is 50% to start and the balance on completion. Larger projects are split into stages.

How to get a price

Send a short written spec by WhatsApp, text, email or the form: which providers or platforms, what the customer enters and what they should see. I'll reply within 24 hours with a quote.

Questions

Can it connect to several platforms at once?

Yes. Each connection has its own sign-in and data format, all running from one integration.

Do comparison platforms have test environments?

Most do, and everything is built and tested there before anything goes live. Some need approval before they give test access, which is worth starting early.

How do live quotes work?

Your system sends the customer's details to each provider, the replies usually come back within seconds, and the integration ranks them and shows the results.

How long does a build take?

A single provider usually takes 2–3 weeks. A full comparison engine with several providers is a bigger project, usually 4–8 weeks depending on how many providers there are and how complex the quote rules are.
