Each button calls the Stripe API in test mode with a test card. Stripe sends its events, such as payment succeeded, payment failed, subscription created or charge refunded, to this site's webhook endpoint. Each one has its signature checked before it's accepted, then it's shown above. That's exactly how a live integration keeps your system in step with Stripe.
